A 19-year-old Elkhart man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 9, just north of County Road 6.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, when a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by Dontae Quinones, veered off the east side of the road while traveling northbound. The vehicle continued through two yards before colliding with a tree in the front yard of a residence at 52910 County Road 9.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Quinones was pronounced dead by Osolo Paramedics due to apparent internal and head injuries.

Officials confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Factors into the collision remain under investigation.
