Proposal for Illinois to join Indiana stalled

(95.3 MNC)
The proposal for parts of Illinois to join Indiana has stalled. Illinois House Bill 1500, which would support Indiana’s boundary adjustment commission, missed Friday’s committee deadline.
Indiana House Bill 1008, passed in February, sets up the commission, but Illinois must pass its companion bill, HB 1500, for it to move forward.
House Speaker Todd Huston says he will continue pushing the measure.
