The Mishawaka City Council unanimously voted to seek state approval to provide water and sewer services for the new Microsoft data center in St. Joseph County.
The application requesting sole control of the water supply will be sent to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
St. Joseph County officials, including President Carl H. Baxmeyer, voiced concerns, saying they were misled.
The dispute dates back to misfiled paperwork from 2014, with Granger Water and the St. Joseph County Regional Sewer District also seeking control of the property where Microsoft plans to build near Cleveland and Current Avenue.
