Two Arrested in LaPorte County Burglary Case

Two suspects were arrested Sunday afternoon after an alleged burglary-in-progress at a rural residence northwest of LaPorte.
Deputies were called to a home in the 6900 north block of County Road 525 West around 12:17 p.m. on May 26, where the homeowner had discovered two individuals on the property.
Upon arrival, deputies gathered information from the victim and shortly after took both suspects into custody. The individuals were identified as 39-year-old Keri L. Kohn of Michigan City and 37-year-old Gregory J. Novak of La Porte.
Kohn and Novak were booked into the LaPorte County Jail on preliminary charges of Burglary, a Level 4 felony. They remain in custody on $20,005 cash-only bonds each, pending further proceedings in La Porte Superior Court I.
