A former Buchanan High School janitor was sentenced to prison for criminal sexual conduct against a 15-year-old girl.

Jameson Nickolas DeCarlo, 24, of Buchanan pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 35 months to 15 years in prison. He must also register as a sex offender.

Leader Publications reports DeCarlo worked as a janitor at the high school during 2024.

The crime happened back in January in Buchanan. Prosecutors say the 15-year-old victim sent explicit pictures to DeCarlo.

They also say DeCarlo could have faced additional charges for distributing child sexually abusive materials and accosting a minor.
