A man wanted on an active warrant was taken into custody after refusing to come out of a home in the 52000 block of Hastings Street.

The St. Joseph County Warrants Team was investigating 44-year-old John Reid on Thursday, June 5, who was wanted in Elkhart County on charges of theft and criminal mischief.

A K-9 unit was brought in to help, and Reid was eventually found hiding in a crawl space.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Reid now faces a charge of resisting law enforcement.
