State GOP upholds decision that Dan Schaetzle is not in good standing

(95.3 MNC)

The GOP members of the St. Joseph County Council are in support of the State GOP’s choice to uphold sanctions against Councilman Dan Schaetzle.

The state committee voted unanimously, sending a message that personal ambition, disruptive behavior and a disregard for party principles won’t be tolerated. The ruling strips Schaetzle of his position and takes away access to any tools or resources of the Indiana Republican Party.

Many in the party and community have recognized that Schaetzle has placed himself outside the bounds of responsible Republican leadership, sending confusing messages to local citizens. Due to the recent decision, Schaetzle is now labeled as a Republican not in good standing.
