A Goshen woman who police say was not buckled up was ejected from her vehicle after a collision in Cass County.
Sheriff’s deputies were called around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17 to Shattuck Road, just south of Quaker Street.
Investigators say the 35-year-old driver was traveling northbound when she lost control of her vehicle, veered off the right side of the road, and struck a tree. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway before leaving it again and becoming stuck in a field.
The woman was rushed to Elkhart General Hospital with injuries.
Police say alcohol and drugs may have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
