Juvenile hospitalized after golf cart and truck collide in Cass County

A juvenile was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a golf cart and a pickup truck in Cass County.

Cass County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of Shore Acres Road and Shultz Court in Cassopolis around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, July 4. According to investigators, a juvenile operating a golf cart was attempting to turn left from Shultz Court onto Shore Acres Road when the vehicle was struck by an eastbound pickup truck, also driven by a juvenile.

Another juvenile passenger in the golf cart was evaluated and released at the scene.

The driver of the golf cart was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor. However, not all individuals involved were wearing seat belts.
