A 12-year-old boy had to be airlifted to a hospital after being seriously injured in a boating accident near Indiana Beach.

The boy was tubing behind a boat on Lake Shafer in White County on Wednesday. According to Indiana conservation officers, the boy was trying to get back on board when the propeller struck his legs.

He was quickly taken to shore and then airlifted to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital on the north side of Indianapolis.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
