Motorcyclist dies following Elkhart hit-and-run; police seek information

A 31-year-old man has died following a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Elkhart.
Caleb Watson, the driver of the motorcycle, passed away at the hospital on Friday, July 11, after sustaining life-threatening injuries in the crash, which occurred late Thursday night at the intersection of County Road 6 West and John Weaver Parkway.
First responders arrived to the crash site on Thursday night to find Watson unresponsive and a 25-year-old female passenger with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.
During the ongoing investigation, officers identified and located a suspect vehicle believed to be a Jeep Liberty. No arrests have been made at this time.
