The South Bend School Board voted 4-3 to reinstate EnrichYou, a nonprofit after-school tutoring program.

The district contracted EnrichYou in May 2024 to tutor 120 students this school year at no cost, using a $1.4 million federal grant.

Earlier this year, the board voted to end the contract. Trustee Marcus Ellison warned that terminating the program and critical comments by some board members could expose the district to a lawsuit.

Last week, the board approved a settlement agreement allowing EnrichYou to provide services for the next four years.
