Correctional officers discovered the woman around 3:20 a.m. and immediately began life-saving efforts. Medics arrived shortly after, but the inmate, Janette Navarro, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say there is no indication of foul play at this time. As part of standard procedure, the Indiana State Police has been called in to conduct an investigation.
