A man is facing over 70 years in prison for molesting many children.
26-year-old Jericho Johnson was arrested in February 2024 after two girls say he touched them inappropriately while playing a game in the cafeteria at a YMCA after-school program, which was at a Greenfield elementary school. Both of the girls were eight and nine years old. During their investigation, detectives found out Johnson had also touched two other girls in a separate incident.
Johnson was not only an employee at the YMCA but also worked with children at Brandywine Church and as a teacher’s aide at Shining Stars Child Care Academy, both in Greenfield.
In June, Johnson was found guilty of battery, child molesting, and touching a child under 14 years old.
Additionally, the owner and director of Shining Stars Child Care Academy, Kelley Basey, was also charged. Her charges stem from failing to report the molestation and reckless supervision as a childcare supervisor.
