15 cats are said to be safe after being found in a box in South Bend.

South Bend Police were contacted by a woman who said she found the box while she was out walking her dog on Tuesday.

The cats were taken to the South Bend Animal Rescue Center, and anybody with information on the cats is asked to contact the Center.

WSBT reports that while the cats will need loving homes, they are not yet up for adoption.
