South Bend man found guilty in 2021 deadly shooting

A South Bend man has been found guilty in the 2021 robbery and shooting that left one person dead and another injured.
A St. Joseph County jury convicted 20-year-old Dashawn Powell, Jr. of felony murder, aiding in murder, and four counts of robbery.
The charges stem from an incident on April 27, 2021, that resulted in the death of Olivia Carillo and the injury of Jalen Cullens.
Powell is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 29.
