A police investigation is underway in Michigan City after a person was shot in the chest.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, near Matey’s Bar and Grill, in the 100 block of Franklin Street.

The victim was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City.

There was no word about any suspects, arrests, or information about what led to the shooting.
