The Bristol Town Council has rejected a rezoning request for the Wilhelm farm from agricultural to manufacturing.
The property, north of County Road 23 in Washington Township, was previously rezoned for a data center last fall despite heavy public opposition, but that project fell through.
Elkhart County Planning & Development recommended denying the latest zoning request, citing potential harm to existing manufacturing, property values, and increased truck traffic.
The Goshen News reports the department suggested a Diversified Planning Unit Development with possible business and residential zoning instead.
