A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in South Bend on Aug. 10.

Keithus Gideon III, 21, faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery, according to court documents.

The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on Portage Avenue, just north of Muessel Grove Park.

The victim was shot in the neck and is now brain dead, relying on machines to survive.
