A 24-year-old Elkhart man has died following a head-on collision on State Road 120 east of County Road 17 early Wednesday morning.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 5:50 a.m. on August 20 when a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by Christopher Dillon Chadwick crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD.

Chadwick was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with head and internal injuries. He died from his injuries early Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri man driving the Silverado, and his passenger, were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of neck and body pain.
