A Cassopolis man tied to a sex-trafficking case has been sentenced in Cass County Court.

25-year-old Johnathon Abram-Barrett pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 13-year-old girl.

Abram-Barrett is now required to register as a sex offender and have no contact with minors.

Three other charges including first-degree criminal sexual conduct and delivering meth were dismissed.

Leader Publications says he gave the victim meth and could have faced 25 years if convicted on the higher charge, though he received 10 to 15 years in prison.
