An Elkhart man will serve 50 years in prison for the 2024 murder of David Strowder.
Michael Dandridge pleaded guilty to the deadly shooting, which happened in March 2024, on Morton Avenue in Elkhart. Police say Strowder’s wife identified Dandridge, her brother-in-law, as the shooter who fled the scene.
According to court documents, witnesses said Dandridge confronted Strowder before firing a fatal shot, then calmly walked away. During sentencing, Strowder’s family members spoke about their loss, while prosecutors argued Dandridge took the law into his own hands.
The Goshen News says Dandridge apologized in court, saying the shooting wasn’t intentional.
He was sentenced to 50 years with the Indiana Department of Correction
