Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is appealing a judge’s decision to dismiss his lawsuit against St. Joseph County Sheriff Bill Redman and the county police department.
Rokita claims the sheriff’s office violated state law by refusing to work with federal immigration officials and failing to honor ICE detainers.
The judge dismissed the case, earlier this month, saying Rokita didn’t provide enough evidence.
Rokita’s office filed an appeal, last week, stating it will continue to fight “to ensure no Indiana community acts as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

This seems to me to be pretty simple IF the County had an illegal immigrant in jail, in custody AND if ICE placed a detainer on him/her AND the prisoner was released vs handed over to ICE then in fact this is a case If any of these elements are missing, then no case
