Ports of Indiana receive two FEMA grants to improve security

The Ports of Indiana have obtained a pair of FEMA grants to improve security measures.

The Burns Harbor port will benefit from the funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which seek to strengthen security infrastructure and assessment capabilities. The port at Jeffersonville will also receive part of the funding.

At Burns Harbor, more than $115,000 in grant money will fund the purchase and installation of advanced CCTV infrastructure, including new lighting and fiber. The Ports of Indiana will provide more than $38,000 in matching funds to complete the work.
