A man charged in a series of burglaries at an Elkhart business has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court.

40-year-old Jonathan Nehring received a five-year sentence for Level 5 felony burglary.

Under a plea agreement, three years are suspended to reporting probation, and the remaining two years will be served through Elkhart County Community Corrections once he becomes eligible.

The Goshen News says police were called to CTS on West Beardsley Avenue back in February for a burglary in progress.

Officers spotted suspects running from the fenced property and later detained Nehring and a woman.

Investigators say Nehring was wearing latex gloves, carrying a walkie-talkie, and admitted to taking items from the building.
