A woman accused of stealing a riding mower and other equipment from her father’s property has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court.

40-year-old Kristin Steinke received a five year sentence for Level 5 felony burglary.

Two years are suspended to probation, and the remaining three will be served through Elkhart County Community Corrections with a recommendation for Work Release.

Deputies say Steinke and Tyler Stewart were caught on surveillance video using a trailer to haul away items from a shed on Amber Valley Drive last May.

Investigators also found online searches on Steinke’s phone about hotwiring a John Deere mower. She was sentenced by plea agreement.
