A southwest Michigan man has been found guilty of Second-Degree Murder in the shooting death of off-duty Eau Claire firefighter Chad Medlin.
The jury also convicted Rigoberto Gomez on additional charges, including Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and multiple firearm offenses.
Police responded to the shooting last November and found Medlin unresponsive with critical injuries. He later died. Another man was also wounded.
A co-defendant, Elizabeth Harper, 43, previously pleaded guilty to evidence tampering. She received two years of probation, 180 days in jail with most of the time already served, as of her sentencing.
