Indiana to block SNAP benefits from being used on candy, sugary drinks

Indiana will soon block SNAP benefits from being used to buy candy and sugary drinks.
Governor Mike Braun signed the change in April as part of his “Make Indiana Healthy Again” plan, backed by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Indiana is among the first states to adopt the policy.
Retailers will enforce the new rules at checkout.
State officials say they’ve already worked with stores and shared guidance to ease the transition.

Michigan really needs to do this as well.
They are far too many obese adults and children relying on welfare.
