A woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash north of Elkhart.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the intersection of County Road 5 and County Road 2, about a mile and a half north of the Elkhart city limits.

According to investigators, a 2001 Ford F-450 driven by a 36-year-old Granger man was traveling northwest on County Road 5 when it crossed left of center into the southbound lane. The truck then collided with a 2007 Nissan Sentra traveling southeast.

The Nissan was driven by a 57-year-old Edwardsburg man.

Two passengers were also inside the Nissan. One of the passengers, 67-year-old Mildred Weiser of Edwardsburg, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team is investigating the collision. Possible citations are pending as the investigation continues.
