An Elkhart man faces an added charge in a deadly Osceola apartment shooting.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Daqwan Haze Jackson‑Burnett is accused of killing Roosevelt Lewis III on March 24 at the Arbors at Riverbend Apartments.

According to court documents, the victim’s girlfriend told police she was arranging a marijuana purchase with Jackson-Burnett when the shooting happened outside the apartment.

Another witness reported hearing yelling and threats from a car before seeing shots fired from the driver, who was the only person inside.

A judge approved an amended charge for use of a firearm. A trial status hearing is scheduled for March 12.
