Elkhart officials are asking the community to remain calm after police reported receiving multiple threats of violence.

The statement on Facebook comes days after a string of shootings, including the officer-involved shooting at High Dive Park that left a 17-year-old dead.

In the social media post, the city said anger and frustration are understandable, but threats are unacceptable and the focus must remain on safety.

City leaders have faced criticism this week, but the mayor and police chief say more information will be released once investigators complete their review.
