False report of bodies prompts Mishawaka Police response

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Mishawaka Police responded to a report of two deceased people inside a home Tuesday afternoon, but the call turned out to be false.
Officers were dispatched around 2:57 p.m. to a residence in the 500 block of East Lawrence Street after a caller contacted the non-emergency dispatch line claiming two people were dead inside the house.
Police contacted the homeowner, who was not at the residence at the time. He returned shortly afterward and allowed officers to search the property.
After clearing the home, officers confirmed no one was inside and no deaths had occurred. Authorities determined the report was unfounded.
Police did not immediately release information about the caller.
