A county leader in LaPorte held a public meeting Saturday morning to clear up talk about data centers.
Commissioner President Steve Holifield said false claims have been spreading on social media, and he wanted people to hear directly from the county.
Some of the claims included that commissioners had signed non-disclosure agreements and that more data centers were already on the way.
Holifield said that’s not true. He told the crowd the commissioners have not signed NDAs, and no new data center projects have been formally submitted in LaPorte County.’
