Two Nappanee parents charged in the death of their infant son now have a jury trial date.

Nick Hunsberger and Amanda Fahlbeck face a Level 1 felony charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

A judge approved a request to join their cases. Police say Fahlbeck called authorities in May of 2022 after finding the two-week-old baby unresponsive at their Goshen home.

Investigators say the parents appeared intoxicated at the hospital and tests later showed several drugs in their systems.

According to The Goshen News, an autopsy cited multiple contributing factors, including drug exposure and unsafe sleep conditions. The jury trial is set for October 28.
