Fairfield High School is moving forward with a major campus improvement project.
School leaders, students and coaches gathered Thursday to mark the start of construction on a multimillion-dollar upgrade to the school’s athletic complex.
The project includes a new access road, a marching band parking lot, band tower and storage building, along with brand new track and field facilities.
New ticket booths and additional outdoor athletic upgrades are also planned.
The project will cost about seven million dollars and will be funded through school bonds.
School leaders hope the new track and football field will be ready by mid-August for the Falcons’ first home game of the season.
