Train lovers, families, and anyone looking for a fun and unique weekend outing are invited to experience the 21st Annual Nappanee Train Show, presented by the Elkhart Model Railroad Club. The popular community event will take place Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Claywood Event Center.
Now in its 21st year, the Nappanee Train Show has grown into the largest model train show in Northern Indiana, attracting hobbyists, collectors, and families from across the region. This year’s show will feature more than 150 vendor tables packed with model trains, accessories, collectibles, and railroad memorabilia in a variety of popular scales.
Visitors will be able to buy, sell, trade, and explore thousands of items related to the model railroading hobby. In addition to the vendors, guests can enjoy operating model train layouts, including a special hands-on layout where kids can run the trains themselves-a favorite attraction for younger visitors.
“This event is about sharing the excitement of model railroading with the community,” said members of the Elkhart Model Railroad Club. “Whether you’re a serious collector, a lifelong railfan, or just looking for something fun to do with the family, there’s something for everyone.”
The show is designed to be family-friendly and affordable. Admission is $5 for adults, and children 12 and under are free with a paid adult. The venue offers ample free parking, and the facility is handicap accessible.
Media outlets are welcome to cover the event. The show offers great visual opportunities for television and photography, including detailed operating layouts, rare and vintage train models, and enthusiastic hobbyists of all ages.
