16-year-old arrested following child exploitation investigation

A 16-year-old has been arrested following a months-long child exploitation investigation in LaPorte County.
The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office said a detective with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force identified suspected child sexual abuse material online.
Search warrants executed through multiple platforms led investigators to a juvenile suspect in rural LaPorte County.
The teen was arrested Friday and is facing multiple charges, including child exploitation, possession of child sexual abuse material, and conspiracy to commit rape.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity.
