A man is in custody after a 12-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert in Iowa was found safe in southwest Michigan.

The alert was issued Easter Sunday for a girl from Waterloo, Iowa, reportedly taken without parental permission by a 24-year-old man from Ann Arbor.

Coloma Township police say detectives tracked the girl’s phone to Berrien County along I-94. An officer later spotted the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

WNDU says Police located the girl inside and arrested the driver, identified as Daniyal Khan. The child was not harmed and has since been reunited with her parents.

Khan is currently being held in Berrien County waiting for extradition back to Iowa.
