A recent poll has suggested the front runners for Michigan’s gubernatorial and senate races, ahead of the August Primaries.
The poll, from the Detroit Regional Chamber, looked at likely voters from both the Democratic and Republican parties. The numbers were released ahead of the 2026 Mackinac Policy Conference.
It showed John James leading all GOP candidates for governor, up 17 points over businessman Perry Johnson. Secretary Jocelyn Benson is shown to have a commanding 58 point lead over Chris Swanson for the Democrat nod.
In the Democratic senate race, 36 percent remain undecided with Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed neck and neck in the low 20s.
