Primary election voting in Elkhart County is now complete, with winning candidates advancing to the general election in November.
Unofficial results show nearly 19-thousand ballots were cast out of about 125-thousand registered voters, for a voter turnout of around 15 percent.
The Goshen News reports while turnout was still relatively low, it was much higher than the 2022 midterm primary, when just over 10-thousand people voted.
The biggest race on the ballot was the Republican primary for Elkhart County sheriff. Michael Culp won with about 58 percent of the vote, defeating Brian Holloman, who received about 42 percent.
