South Bend Police investigating shooting on Eastbrook Drive

The South Bend Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting on the city’s southeast side.

St. Joseph County Dispatch says officers were called around 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, to the 1300 block of Eastbrook Drive on a report of a shooting. Initial dispatch information indicated a person had been shot in the back.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is handling the investigation.

The condition of the victim has not been released. There was no immediate word about suspects, arrests, or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
