Health officials in LaPorte County are warning about a dangerous new synthetic opioid that’s now been detected in Indiana.
The drug, called Cychlorphine, is believed to be about ten times more potent than fentanyl and was recently linked to a deadly overdose in LaPorte County.
Officials say the drug can be difficult to detect and may not respond as well to Narcan.
Authorities are urging people to never take medications not prescribed directly to them and to call 911 immediately in the event of a suspected overdose.
