Three adults are facing charges after an Indiana State Police traffic stop on Interstate 80/94 in Lake County.

Troopers say a car was stopped for speeding just after 1 a.m. Monday and officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

During a search, police found two loaded handguns, including one reportedly located beneath a child in a safety seat, along with suspected marijuana.

The three adults were arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail. The child was released to a family member. Prosecutors will determine final charges.
