The jury trial for a Chicago man accused in a 2021 armed robbery and carjacking in Elkhart County has been postponed.

19-year-old Jason Blackman Jr. was charged after investigators identified him and another teen in the reported gunpoint theft of a pickup truck in Brookside Manor.

Police say the stolen vehicle led deputies on a chase before crashing, with both suspects fleeing on foot. Blackman’s trial was moved from July 6 to October 22.

The Goshen News says his co-defendant previously resolved the case through a plea agreement.
