Officer injured during reckless driving investigation in Goshen

A Goshen police officer suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while responding to reports of a large reckless driving gathering on the city’s north side.

According to police, officers were dispatched around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, to the 4500 block of Elkhart Road following reports of a large gathering involving reckless vehicle activity.

As officers arrived, several vehicles began leaving the area. During the response, one driver allegedly ignored police commands to stop, struck an officer with a vehicle, and fled the scene.

The injured officer was treated for minor injuries.

Police initiated a brief pursuit of the suspect vehicle but later terminated it. The driver has not been identified.

The investigation remains ongoing.
