A Dowagiac man has been identified as the suspect arrested following a weeks-long investigation into a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Cass County.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, investigators determined the incident occurred around 5:31 a.m. on May 21 along M-152 near Pleasant Street in Silver Creek Township. The crash was not reported to authorities until May 24.

Detectives say Timothy Johnson was walking eastbound on M-152 when he was struck by a vehicle that was also traveling east.
