Search underway for driver after deadly hit-and-run in Starke County

Authorities in Starke County are searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run.

Deputies were called just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, to County Road 350 West and County Road 500 South after reports of an unresponsive person along the roadway. The victim was found dead with injuries investigators say are consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Evidence recovered at the scene indicates the suspect vehicle is believed to be a black passenger car with front-end damage. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
