Indiana is being recognized for having one of the nation’s lowest veteran unemployment rates.

State officials say Indiana’s veteran unemployment rate was just 1.7 percent in 2025, well below the national average of 3.5 percent.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development credits specialized veteran employment services available through WorkOne offices statewide.

Governor Mike Braun says Hoosier businesses should look to veterans first when seeking skilled, proven talent as National Hire a Veteran Day approaches July 25.
