(Ashley Wilkerson/Elkhart Truth)
Three people, including two young children, were injured after a pickup truck crashed into a horse-drawn buggy in LaGrange County.
It happened just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, State Road 9, south of County Road 300 South. Police say a southbound pickup struck the buggy from behind, throwing the 25-year-old driver and one child from the buggy. Another child remained inside until it came to a stop.
The woman was hospitalized with back injuries. A 2-year-old boy suffered multiple injuries, and a 5-month-old girl was treated for head injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.
The pickup driver was not hurt and told investigators he did not see the buggy before the crash. Police have not released information about the horse.
