Motorcyclist injured after hitting deer in Cass County

A 74-year-old Union man was injured when his motorcycle struck a deer in Cass County.

The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, on Sunset Boulevard, just south of Indiana Lake Drive in Porter Township.

Cass County Sheriff’s deputies say the motorcyclist was traveling south when a deer entered the roadway and was struck.

The rider was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The extent of those injuries was not immediately released.

The crash remains under investigation.
